17 weeks

This week has been pretty good, better than week 16 for sure. My headaches have subsided as well as the nausea and I am so grateful for that.
Nothing really new to report since we've been busy with packing. I'm excited that we're moving so I can eventually get the nursery all set up, I really love that part :)

17 weeks pregnant
I can't believe I'm posting this picture because ew. It was 10:30 pm and we were getting ready for bed when I remembered we needed to take a picture. So yeah, I look extra big and thick and soft and tired. And the white part is my tank top, not my bra :)

16 weeks

This week will be known as barf week. Why? Well, because, I felt barfy and I barfed. Tuesday morning I woke up and immediately went to the bathroom where I threw up all the extra buttery popcorn I had eaten the night before. It was gross, and I will not be eating popcorn any time soon. I spent the rest of the day in bed while Brian (aka Superman) took care of Bria and worked from home. So he worked 2 jobs, at the same time.
I actually thought maybe I had the flu because the body aches were just as bad as the nausea. Every part of my body hurt, including my fingers and toes. My hips were killing me so finding a comfortable position to lay in was impossible. Since we don't know anyone who has been sick, and both Brian and Bria are okay (crossing fingers they stay that way), we are concluding it's just pregnancy sickness, back with a vengeance.
Yesterday I didn't throw up but still felt pretty nauseous, although the body aches were gone. Today I think I feel a little better than yesterday, just queasy.
Other than the past few days, this week went well, pretty uneventful. I thought I felt the baby move yesterday, but I'm not sure. According to the doctor I still shouldn't feel it for another week or 2, and that's taking into consideration this is my second pregnancy. It could've been a few muscle twitches I guess.

How far along?
16 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 1 pound (since I haven't eaten much in the last few days)
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I'm getting close to wearing maternity shirts
Sleep: Pretty good (minus the body aches on Monday night)
Best moment this week: Getting one week closer to finding out the sex!
Food cravings: Cereal, green olives
What I miss: Wine and sleeping on my back
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: He or she is about the size of a large pear

I don't have a belly picture because I look like donkey poo and didn't want to expose you all to my grossness. But I'll have one next week, I've been good about belly pictures with this pregnancy and I plan on keeping it up!

15 weeks

We had our appointment yesterday! I LOVE appointments, despite having to pee in a cup it's so exciting to hear the heartbeat and talk pregnancy/baby.
Bria and Brian came with me which was fun. Bria did pretty well and fortunately it was a very quick appointment. She was mesmerized when we heard the heartbeat and it was really sweet to see her just stop and stare. Brian and I also enjoyed it, I could listen to that little heartbeat all day. My doctor didn't tell me the heartbeat range which was weird, and I forgot to ask because I was in awe of hearing it.
We didn't get to schedule the big u/s, we do that at the next appointment which is April 26th, so I think it will be the beginning of May when we find out the sex.

15 week belly

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 3 pounds (my scale at home is 6 pounds different than the doctor's office which is why I thought I had gained so much, so glad I hadn't!)
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: Pretty good
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat!!
Food cravings: Ice cream, like blizzard type ice cream treats, yum.
What I miss: Wine, I miss wine very much.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: I think I'm in my 4th month of pregnancy now (although it depends what book you are reading)

I've been getting headaches almost daily and those are not fun. They are easier to handle than the nausea, but they still aren't fun. Hopefully those are gone soon. Other than that everything is going well and I'm so excited to feel this baby move and find out the sex!

14 weeks

14 weeks pregnant with Bria

14 weeks pregnant with this baby
These pictures were taken at the same time but somehow the slight move of the camera made the lighting so weird.

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think like 6 pounds, eek! I hope the scale is lying.
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: Better this week, still pee once a night
Best moment this week: Entering the second trimester
Food cravings: Fruits and sweets. I eat strawberries, grapes, raspberries, and green apples daily. But I also crave sweets, like Krispy Kreme donuts...and there is one like 10 minutes from our house. I've already been twice in two weeks. My favorite right now is the Glazed Raspberry filled, and just their glazed originals. Yum.
What I miss: Nothing right now, I'm trying to enjoy being pregnant since this will be my last pregnancy.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: First trimester, done.

If I have one complaint it's how frequently I am going to the bathroom. It's ridiculous, I'm barely in my 2nd trimester, the baby is tiny, but I have to pee all the time. Obviously I am drinking more water so I know that is some of the reason, but still, I am peeing way too much.
I am getting very anxious to feel this baby move, I cannot wait to feel little flutters and then little kicks.
My next appointment is next week and like I said before, I'm hoping to schedule our big 20 week u/s then :)
Most of this week I've felt really good, although the beginning of the week I felt tired and even a little nauseous.
I'm really looking forward to getting a little belly, this in between stage is difficult because I just look chunky in the middle and it's not fun. I think the 24 week belly is my favorite, it's big enough so everyone knows you are pregnant, but not as big as the 32 week belly where you are uncomfortable and ready to pop!
Alright, I've rambled on long enough, here's to another good pregnancy week!

13 weeks

Hello 2nd trimester!!!!! You are a very welcome trimester, I am glad I am finally here. Technically 2nd trimester starts at 13w 3d, but I'm close enough.
This week my obsession has been with granny smith apples (still), they are delicious. I've been eating pretty good this week (besides the Blazer game we went to) but I stepped on the scale and wowzers, I think I've gained like 6 pounds, how?! Ugh, the weight gaining is starting already.
I've been feeling pretty tired this week, it usually hits right at 3 o'clock, right when Bria is done with her nap. I wish it would hit during her "nap" but it does not. I say "nap" because she hasn't napped in almost a week, she just talks. But that's a subject for the other blog.
I don't think there have been any other changes this week, it's been a pretty low key week. My belly looks about the same size so I didn't do a belly picture. But I'll be sure to do one next week.
Our next appointment is March 30th and I think at that one we'll be able to schedule the big u/s which I am looking forward to very much. I want to make sure this little one is healthy and growing strong. It's scary going into that u/s because my mind wonders and I get all nervous and I just pray the baby is healthy and growing. And of course, we are very much looking forward to finding out the sex. Then we can start planning the nursery and buying some clothes :)
I'm really looking forward to being able to feel this little one move, I know I have another month or so but I just can't wait.

12 weeks

My hair is flat and I look tired. I really need to take belly pictures in the morning.

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 1.8 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: I get up to go to the bathroom at least once a night and toss and turn a lot, but I'm tired and usually try and lay down while Bria naps
Best moment this week: Thinking about Bria as a big sister
Food cravings: Green apples, I must go grocery shopping because we don't have any in the house
What I miss: Going to the bathroom less frequently and not feeling nauseous
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: I think I'm getting past the worst of the nausea

I'm surprised at my belly, it feels like it's growing really fast and it just seems sooo early to be showing already. Especially since the baby is like 4 cm.
I have no new symptoms except maybe headaches, those are not fun. But my new boobs are fun, man I love pregnancy boobs. :)
I spent part of last night reading my pregnancy journal from when I was pregnant with Bria. I enjoyed that blast from the past and it got me so excited to start feeling this baby move and find out the sex, I just can't wait.

11 weeks

Well, this week has been much better than last week and I am very grateful for that. The nausea is subsiding and so is the lower back pain, hallelujah.
This week has brought the following symptoms:
  • Headaches
  • Tiredness (not quite as bad)
  • Irritable
We had our first appointment yesterday! I really like the doctor and thought she had a good bedside manner which is very important to me. Since I didn't have a full cycle off the Mirena she did the internal u/s to get an accurate due date. I was thrilled to be able to see our little baby, seeing him/her squirm all over was just the coolest thing and it never ceases to amaze me that I can't feel all that moving. We saw the heartbeat beating away and it was just a joyous sight. So happy.
I measured exactly right on: 10w 6d
My blood work and everything looked good although she did say my blood pressure was pretty low. Especially since it usually takes a dip in the 2nd trimester so she's interested in seeing what it does in the next few weeks. My bp was 94/55. I'm not sure why and I don't know what that means but hopefully it's not bad for the baby.
Let's see, I think that's about it. We are ready to tell everyone now so we'll FB and blog it tomorrow :) I'm excited to tell everyone.
And look, 2 belly pictures in a row, I rock! ;)
