14 weeks

14 weeks pregnant with Bria

14 weeks pregnant with this baby
These pictures were taken at the same time but somehow the slight move of the camera made the lighting so weird.

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think like 6 pounds, eek! I hope the scale is lying.
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: Better this week, still pee once a night
Best moment this week: Entering the second trimester
Food cravings: Fruits and sweets. I eat strawberries, grapes, raspberries, and green apples daily. But I also crave sweets, like Krispy Kreme donuts...and there is one like 10 minutes from our house. I've already been twice in two weeks. My favorite right now is the Glazed Raspberry filled, and just their glazed originals. Yum.
What I miss: Nothing right now, I'm trying to enjoy being pregnant since this will be my last pregnancy.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: First trimester, done.

If I have one complaint it's how frequently I am going to the bathroom. It's ridiculous, I'm barely in my 2nd trimester, the baby is tiny, but I have to pee all the time. Obviously I am drinking more water so I know that is some of the reason, but still, I am peeing way too much.
I am getting very anxious to feel this baby move, I cannot wait to feel little flutters and then little kicks.
My next appointment is next week and like I said before, I'm hoping to schedule our big 20 week u/s then :)
Most of this week I've felt really good, although the beginning of the week I felt tired and even a little nauseous.
I'm really looking forward to getting a little belly, this in between stage is difficult because I just look chunky in the middle and it's not fun. I think the 24 week belly is my favorite, it's big enough so everyone knows you are pregnant, but not as big as the 32 week belly where you are uncomfortable and ready to pop!
Alright, I've rambled on long enough, here's to another good pregnancy week!

13 weeks

Hello 2nd trimester!!!!! You are a very welcome trimester, I am glad I am finally here. Technically 2nd trimester starts at 13w 3d, but I'm close enough.
This week my obsession has been with granny smith apples (still), they are delicious. I've been eating pretty good this week (besides the Blazer game we went to) but I stepped on the scale and wowzers, I think I've gained like 6 pounds, how?! Ugh, the weight gaining is starting already.
I've been feeling pretty tired this week, it usually hits right at 3 o'clock, right when Bria is done with her nap. I wish it would hit during her "nap" but it does not. I say "nap" because she hasn't napped in almost a week, she just talks. But that's a subject for the other blog.
I don't think there have been any other changes this week, it's been a pretty low key week. My belly looks about the same size so I didn't do a belly picture. But I'll be sure to do one next week.
Our next appointment is March 30th and I think at that one we'll be able to schedule the big u/s which I am looking forward to very much. I want to make sure this little one is healthy and growing strong. It's scary going into that u/s because my mind wonders and I get all nervous and I just pray the baby is healthy and growing. And of course, we are very much looking forward to finding out the sex. Then we can start planning the nursery and buying some clothes :)
I'm really looking forward to being able to feel this little one move, I know I have another month or so but I just can't wait.

12 weeks

My hair is flat and I look tired. I really need to take belly pictures in the morning.

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 1.8 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: I get up to go to the bathroom at least once a night and toss and turn a lot, but I'm tired and usually try and lay down while Bria naps
Best moment this week: Thinking about Bria as a big sister
Food cravings: Green apples, I must go grocery shopping because we don't have any in the house
What I miss: Going to the bathroom less frequently and not feeling nauseous
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move :)
Milestones: I think I'm getting past the worst of the nausea

I'm surprised at my belly, it feels like it's growing really fast and it just seems sooo early to be showing already. Especially since the baby is like 4 cm.
I have no new symptoms except maybe headaches, those are not fun. But my new boobs are fun, man I love pregnancy boobs. :)
I spent part of last night reading my pregnancy journal from when I was pregnant with Bria. I enjoyed that blast from the past and it got me so excited to start feeling this baby move and find out the sex, I just can't wait.

11 weeks

Well, this week has been much better than last week and I am very grateful for that. The nausea is subsiding and so is the lower back pain, hallelujah.
This week has brought the following symptoms:
  • Headaches
  • Tiredness (not quite as bad)
  • Irritable
We had our first appointment yesterday! I really like the doctor and thought she had a good bedside manner which is very important to me. Since I didn't have a full cycle off the Mirena she did the internal u/s to get an accurate due date. I was thrilled to be able to see our little baby, seeing him/her squirm all over was just the coolest thing and it never ceases to amaze me that I can't feel all that moving. We saw the heartbeat beating away and it was just a joyous sight. So happy.
I measured exactly right on: 10w 6d
My blood work and everything looked good although she did say my blood pressure was pretty low. Especially since it usually takes a dip in the 2nd trimester so she's interested in seeing what it does in the next few weeks. My bp was 94/55. I'm not sure why and I don't know what that means but hopefully it's not bad for the baby.
Let's see, I think that's about it. We are ready to tell everyone now so we'll FB and blog it tomorrow :) I'm excited to tell everyone.
And look, 2 belly pictures in a row, I rock! ;)

10 weeks

I didn't update at 9 weeks because that's how sick I was feeling. It was a very rough week and all I wanted to do was lay around and sleep, it was not fun. I finally started feeling better over the weekend but then Tuesday came and the nausea returned, grrr. But since I'm 10 weeks now I'm hoping that means I will be on the mend from here on out and the nausea will stay away for good...and the exhaustion because I'm sleeping a lot and while it's nice I really need to get stuff done.
So that leads me to my symptoms:
  • Nausea, extreme nausea
  • Exhaustion, extreme exhaustion
  • Irritable, extremely irritable
  • Lower back pain
Last week I got some pretty intense lower back pain that eventually moved to the left side and it was this sharp pain, like a pinched nerve. I was not expecting this until the 3rd trimester so it really shocked me. I was in so much pain I could barely sleep and I just wanted to cry all day, it was horrible. It finally started to go away over the weekend and I was so thankful. Well, it came back yesterday. It's all across my lower back but I fear the left side, pinched nerve pain is going to come soon. I'm gonna chat with the doctor about this because I think it's so weird it's happening so early on. It's not just a little pain, it's horrible pain.

I'm definitely pregnant, my waist is gone and I've got a little bloated belly. Even when I suck in the belly still sticks out, this is definitely earlier than I started showing with Bria. At least a month early. Let's hope that does not mean I get bigger with this one because I was plenty big with Bria, too big.
We ask Bria if it's a boy or girl in my tummy and she always says boy. So the consensus is still boy for us. 10 more weeks and we'll find out.
My first appointment is next week and I'm looking forward to meeting and talking with the doctor. I really want an u/s but it sounds like they don't do those at the first appointment :(

I finally took a belly picture and I'm comparing it to my 11 week belly shot with Bria:

8 weeks

Well I'm 8 weeks today. So far this pregnancy is going faster than Bria's, probably because I'm chasing around a toddler. Also I don't have a belly yet to remind me of the little one growing inside me. Just the nausea ;)
Brian is still convinced we're having a little boy. I, on the other hand, am not sure. I mean, that was my first gut instinct but now I'm not sure. Guess we'll know in 12 weeks or so.

Symptoms:
  • Nausea
  • Irritable (I've got the whole grouchy pregnant hormonal thing going on, Brian is not a fan)
That's about it. I'm still kind of tired but not nearly as exhausted as I was last week which is good. I don't have to take 5 minute naps while Bria reads books beside me.
I will say today I feel a little different in the belly area, I think things are making room for the baby and I fear I will be showing a lot earlier than I did with Bria. And I thought I showed early with Bria, oh dear! That's what I get for being short I guess.

Ooops

7 weeks 5 days

It's a good thing no one is really following this yet because I am a total slacker. Last week was awful, just awful. We all had a cold and on top of that I started feeling very nauseous an of course was tired. Trying to take care of a sick toddler when feeling like that was incredibly hard, however, Bria really was such a good girl. She would play while I laid on the couch or floor, occasionally we'd read but I was pretty much a zombie all week. She also watched too much tv. Don't judge me, it was a bad week.
We are on the mend now, accept for my nausea and exhaustion of course, those don't want to leave apparently. Even though I would really appreciate it if they did.

In other news, I scheduled my first appointment, or appointments, plural. Apparently at this doctor's office they have a first appointment with a medical assistant and you go over stuff. Then around 10 weeks you see the doctor. So I scheduled both those appointments, my first one is February 15th and the second is March 2nd. Unfortunately I don't get an u/s :( At my last doctor's office they did an internal u/s at your first appointment and it was wonderful seeing Bria and her heart beat, I loved it. But hopefully we can hear the heart beat with the normal wand thing.

I was thinking about similarities and differences in this pregnancy and Bria's. Obviously it's really early to compare but food wise it's definitely different. With Bria I ate cereal and toast everyday for 9 months. This time, cereal does not calm my tummy like it once did, actually I fear milk may be contributing to my nausea, gah! This is not good people. I want chips and chocolate all the time, that's the only thing that sounds good. That and Canada Dry. Oh and on top of that I don't want to move, so yeah, I'm gonna gain like 100 pounds this pregnancy :(
Hopefully it gets better and once I'm past the 1st trimester I eat healthy and exercise daily.

Can't believe I'm almost 8 weeks along!
